Select a Snorkel:
Snorkels come in a variety of styles and sizes.
- Older teens & adults use
standard snorkels.
- Smaller adults and teens may prefer an standard
snorkel fitted with a slightly smaller mouthpiece.
- Young children (under about 65 pounds) need
shorter, smaller-diameter
snorkels with small dead-air space so that they don't re-breathe their
exhaled breath, potentially getting short on oxygen.
- A "dry top" snorkel keeps water from coming into the snorkel, even
when you dip your head under the surface. Very popular with novices!
- A "semi-dry top"
snorkel has a splash guard that reduces waves and splashes
from going down the snorkel, but never completely shuts off.
- A purge valve allows easy clearing of any water that gets into the
snorkel.
- A flex tube on your snorkel makes adjusting it for comfort easier.
- Some snorkels have a mouthpiece can be replaced in seconds if it tears or is
bitten through.
- All snorkels include a clip to attach to your mask strap on the left
side of your head.
